Messaging Policy

Updated 30 October 2026 · version 2026-10-30

Texts from your shop reach customers only because carriers trust the sender. These rules keep that trust, for your shop and for every other shop on Ortix Aislo.

  • Ortix Aislo terms of service
  • Text messaging privacy
  • Ortix Aislo privacy policy

Who this is for

Every shop that texts its customers from Ortix Aislo, and everyone in the shop who sends texts. Your shop is the sender of its texts; Ortix Aislo and our texting provider deliver them. This policy is part of the terms of service.

Your shop's registration and texting terms page

US carriers require every business that texts from an ordinary phone number to register its brand and what it sends (10DLC). Ortix Aislo registers your shop after your first payment and gives it a public texting terms page, which the carriers check during review. It tells customers what they will get, how often, the cost, and how to stop or get help. The link is in Settings › Texting, at an address like aislo.ortixgroup.com/texting-terms/…. Give it to customers who ask, and keep your shop's name, phone and email in Settings up to date, because the page shows them.

Consent

  • Service texts (repair status, estimates to approve, ready for pickup, appointment reminders, payment links): text only customers who gave you their mobile number and agreed to get texts about their vehicle, for example at drop-off or when booking online. Keep a record of that agreement; a line on your signed work order or a note on the customer is enough.
  • Marketing texts (offers, campaigns, win-back and review requests): text only customers who separately agreed in writing to get marketing texts from your shop, and record it. Agreeing must never be a condition of getting a repair. Ortix Aislo sends marketing only to numbers with a recorded marketing opt-in.
  • Never buy, rent, borrow or share phone lists, or text numbers you did not get from the customer.
  • When you record consent, tell the customer your shop's name, what you will text about, that message frequency varies, that message and data rates may apply, and that they can reply STOP to stop and HELP for help.

STOP, START and HELP

  • A customer who replies STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, OPTOUT, REVOKE is opted out at once. Ortix Aislo sends one confirmation and no more texts of any kind until they reply START, UNSTOP, YES, OPTIN. Staff cannot override an opt-out.
  • A reply of HELP, INFO gets an automatic answer with your shop's name and how to reach you.
  • If a customer asks to stop in other words, such as “please don't text me”, record the opt-out yourself on the customer straight away.
  • Include “Reply STOP to opt out” in the first text to a customer and in every marketing text.

Quiet hours

Ortix Aislo holds texts during your shop's quiet hours (by default 8 pm to 8 am in your shop's time zone) and sends them when quiet hours end. You can change the hours in Settings › Messaging, but:

  • Marketing texts must only go out between 8 am and 8 pm in the customer's time zone, and some states allow fewer hours or forbid Sundays and holidays. Keep the default unless you know your customers' state rules allow more.
  • A service text may go out during quiet hours only when the customer is waiting on it (for example, their vehicle is ready late). Ortix Aislo asks for a reason and records it.

What may not be sent

Following the carriers' rules (CTIA), texts from Ortix Aislo must not contain or promote:

  • sexual or adult content, hate speech, harassment, threats or violence;
  • alcohol, tobacco, vaping, cannabis, CBD, kratom or other drugs, or firearms and ammunition;
  • gambling, sweepstakes, or loans, credit repair, debt relief, cryptocurrency or other high-risk financial offers;
  • collection of debts owed to someone other than your shop (reminders of your own invoices are fine);
  • third-party offers, lead generation or affiliate marketing, or messages on behalf of another business;
  • phishing, fake links, URL shorteners from public services, or anything deceptive or illegal;
  • full card numbers, bank details, passwords or Social Security numbers.

Writing good texts

  • Start with your shop's name, so the customer knows who is texting.
  • Keep to the vehicle and the visit, and use the links Ortix Aislo creates rather than shortened links.
  • Answer replies. Texts are a conversation the customer can join.

Text messaging privacy

How Ortix Aislo handles the phone numbers and texting consent that shops keep in it:

  • A customer's mobile number, their agreement to texts and every STOP, START and HELP reply are used only to send that shop's messages and to keep a record of consent. They are never sold, and never shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing.
  • Texts and numbers pass through our texting provider (Telnyx) and the carriers only to deliver the messages. The shop's business details go to the carriers' registry (The Campaign Registry) to register its texting; customers' numbers do not.
  • Messages and consent records are kept with the shop's other records, for as long as the Ortix Aislo privacy policy describes. An opt-out is kept for as long as the number is in the shop's records, so a STOP is never forgotten.
  • Each shop's public texting terms page tells its customers the same, with the shop's name and how to reach it. Customers with questions about their information should ask the shop; we help it answer.

If something goes wrong

Carriers can filter, block or fine senders that break these rules, and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and state laws allow customers to sue over unwanted texts. Under the terms your shop is responsible for its texts. We may pause your shop's texting if carriers report complaints or a text breaks this policy; we tell you why and what to fix. Report misuse, or ask for help, through our contact form.
